Web Name Triggers Dispute
December 30, 2005
I recently received some of the documents I requested after the November 9, 2005
Board meeting. At that meeting the Board passed Resolution #06-86,
Approval of Hearing Officer Compensation. This resolution was debated at
an earlier meeting and withdrawn after Carol Bogle questioned where the
remainder of the $400 per hearing was going if the Hearing Officer was only
getting $250. The passed resolution calls only for $250 per hearing with
that money going to the Hearing Officer.

On December 2, 2005 I received a letter from the Poughkeepsie City School
District regarding my web site. In the letter they allege that my
domain name is "confusingly similar" to that of the district and make vague
references to copyrighted materials appearing on my site and threaten me with

On December 2, 2005 I received a letter from the Poughkeepsie City School
District regarding my web site. In the letter they allege that my domain
name is "confusingly similar" to that of the district and make vague references
to copyrighted materials appearing on my site and threaten me with legal action.
At this point I have no comment other than to direct readers to draw their own

I received the Superintendents Employment Contract from the District today.

There will be a Special Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, December 7,
2005 at the Administration Building. Only an Executive Session is
scheduled for the meeting. The reported purpose of the Executive Session
is to interview candidates for the Interim Superintendents position.

The November web logs show over 3000 pages were viewed during the month with
November 30 being the busiest day. To those returning visitors I would

agreement for Superintendent Watson was posted. You can read the agreement
