October 18, 2005 Raymond K. Duncan announces the Internet debut of PoughkeepsieSchools.info. The site is devoted to bringing information regarding the Poughkeepsie City School District to the residents of the district. The PoughkeepsieSchools.info site provides factual information about the district and its administration. All of the information on the site is from public sources but not all in one place nor all of it on the Internet. The site contains many documents obtained from the district using New York’s Freedom of Information Law. Some of the documents included are the most recent academic performance report, attendance records, the full 2005-2006 budget and all of the contracts with the districts bargaining units. Other information comes from the State Education Department, Dutchess County School Boards Association and additional sources. Also included on the site is a district map, email list, discussion forum and school calendar. The site brings a great deal of information about the district together in one place with the goal of educating the community and increasing community involvement in the district. Raymond K. Duncan is a 13+ year City resident with two children in the district. He can regularly be found at Board of Education meetings and is a member of the Smith School and Middle School Building Level Teams as well as the district steering committee.
