The Poughkeepsie City School District is a K-12 school district located in Poughkeepsie, NY.  There are approximately 5000 students in the district which has a  2006-2007 budget of $68,491,810 dollars.  The district is comprised of six elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, the Circle of Courage a K-8 special needs building and an administration building.  Three of the elementary schools are designated as magnet schools.  In addition, the district has an Administration Building located at 11 College Avenue.  Dr. Laval Wilson, Superintendent, took office in July of 2006  There are five members on the Board of Education each elected to a three year term.
